How long will it take to receive my certificate?
If you’ve applied for a national name check, you’ll need to wait a minimum of 10 working days from the date your application is received by Victoria Police.
For a national name and fingerprint check, you’ll need to wait a minimum of 20 working days to have your fingerprint appointment and check processed.

How long is the certificate valid for?
There is no expiry date on national police certificates.
The police certificate is the result of a check of police records only up until the day it is issued.
Each industry, organisation or individual may choose how often they need a new certificate issued.
What if I don’t receive my certificate in the mail?
Victoria Police only issues one original certificate, which is valid at the date of issue and copies aren’t provided.
